Ordering process
Fortunate Skies is a for-charity fanzine with a particular ordering method. In order to claim a copy of this zine, you will need to follow these steps:
Make a donation to a charity organization of your choice. Eligible charities include any and all nonprofit organizations which provide goods or services for free to people in need, whether local, national and international.
Obtain picture or screenshot of a receipt of your donation and censor personally identifying information. Make sure the name of the organization, the amount you donated and the date of the donation remain clearly legible.
Fill in our claim form by March 17th, 2024.
Questions about orders
Can I donate to [INSERT ORGANIZATION]?
As long as this organization is a nonprofit which provides a valuable service or valuable goods to a community for free, then yes, you can! Please note that in the case of organizations that request a donation in goods, such as eSIM for Gaza, you should provide both your purchase receipt and a proof that your purchase was donated.
Can I donate to more than one organization?
Yes, as long as the total of your purchase meets the minimum amount for the item or bundle you want to claim. Please make sure to submit all of your receipts with your form.
Can I donate before preorders open?
Yes, donations made from January 17th, 2024 will be eligible to claim a bundle or item, as long as you fill the form by March 17th.
Q1. What is a fanzine?
A fanzine is a fan-made, unofficial collection of fanart, fanfiction, and other derivative works based on a preexisting work or collection of works. In this case, this fanzine is based on the universe of Genshin Impact and will be focused on the romantic relationship between Childe (Tartaglia) and Bennett.
Q2. Wait, but isn’t Bennett a minor?
This fanzine assumes Bennett to be 18+, and any creator who joins this fanzine will have to portray him as such.
Q3. Is this zine digital or physical?
This fanzine will be digital only. The zine's team does not plan on making it physical at this time.
Q4. Is this zine SFW or NSFW?
This fanzine will contain a mix of SFW and NSFW content, and as such will be rated 18+. We decided on this formula as it will enable us to leave it up to the contributors to decide what type of content they want to produce. Creators will thus have the freedom to portray graphic content without worrying about getting over the limits of a SFW content rating.
Q5. Is this zine for-profit or for-charity?
This zine is for-charity, but contrary to most zines, we will not collect buyers' money and donate it as a lump sum to a single charity organization. Instead, we will let buyers choose to which charity they'd like to donate (we will provide a list of suggestions, for people who don't know where to donate), and buyers will make a donation in their own name to their charity of choice. To claim their copy of the zine, buyers will simply have to submit a picture or a screenshot of their donation receipt!We chose this formula because we would like to encourage people to make their donation to local, small-scale charities & nonprofit organizations, such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens & food banks, no-kill animal shelters, youth community centers, and other organizations which frequently lack funding and provide valuable services to their communities.
Q6. Is this zine for top Childe/bottom Bennett only?
Not at all! We will allow content creators all the freedom to portray the ship's dynamic however they like. We will strive for a variety of content when picking pitches, but will not impose any particular direction to our contributors.
Q7. Is there any content which is off-limits for creators?
Our only constraint at this time is that both Bennett and Childe have to be portrayed as 18+, and thus we will not allow underage content in the zine. Our contributors will be encouraged to tag their pieces with any relevant content/trigger warnings so that the readers can have a comfortable experience. We will also preface artworks with more graphic content with warnings, and have links within the zine to allow readers to skip over the content they don’t want to see more easily.
Q8. How old do I need to apply?
Since this fanzine will contain a mix of SFW and NSFW content, people will need to be 18 or older at the time applications open in order to join the zine.
Q9. How will you judge applications for the zine?
Our only criteria for selecting applicants will be the samples and portfolio submitted through the application form. Please make sure to read the application guidelines when you are ready to apply. All applicants will be evaluated by the mod team based on the quality of their works. External factors, such as social media following, personal shipping preferences, or previous zine experience, will not be considered. In fact, we would like to invite you to apply even if you don't have any zine experience! We are happy to guide people through the process and answer questions for any applicant or contributor who may be unfamiliar with the process.
